The Rabbit Snail (Tylomelania sp.) is among the most exclusive and desirable freshwater snails in the aquarium world. Often called the “Sulawesi Snail,” “Elephant Snail,” or “Giant Rabbit Snail,” this unique species originates from the pristine lakes of Sulawesi, Indonesia. With their charming elephant-like face, calm temperament, and striking spiral shells that can reach up to 4.5 inches, Rabbit Snails are not just algae grazers—they are a living centerpiece that adds rarity, beauty, and character to any aquascape.
Sulawesi snails are so rare, meaning they are found nowhere else in the world except Sulawesi’s ancient lakes. Unlike common aquarium snails, they do not reproduce uncontrollably in tanks, making them a safe and stable addition.
