Deskripsi
The Empire Gudgeon is a strikingly beautiful freshwater fish that brings vibrant color and unique character to any nano or planted aquarium. Native to Australia, this remarkable member of the goby family displays vivid neon red, electric blue, and shimmering green hues—especially in breeding-age adults. Mature males stand out with their brilliantly rounded heads and intensified coloration.
Highly adaptable to a wide range of water parameters, the Empire Gudgeon thrives best in small groups of 6–8, where its social interactions and natural beauty truly shine. While a pair can live happily in a smaller tank, this species shows its most dazzling colors in a well-planted, carefully aquascaped environment with ample hiding spots among rocks, driftwood, and plants. Empire Gudgeons can occasionally jump, especially when newly introduced to an aquarium, so a secure lid or lowered water level is essential. Once settled, they adapt well and provide aquarists with years of enjoyment through their vivid colors and engaging behavior.
